Revoltech ARX8 Laevatein

After Revoltech Yotsuba Summer Vacation being release in a bigger box and greater amount of accessories, this newest Revoltech also follow its trend! For the first time standard mecha Revoltech has been release in such box size and with that much of accessories.

For those of you that never read any of the Full Metal Panic(FMP) series novel will not know that this ARX-8 Laevatein is the upgrade mecha of ARX-7 Arbalest. It is also tell us that Kaiyodo Revoltech is gonna venture into FMP series mecha, time to prepare your bullets.....

Ok box open, and here you have all the accessories in the box.

This Revoltech even include a manual book.... and trust me you will need it later on... this is the only Revoltech that gave me a hard time guessing which part fits into which part.

Paint job for this figure is good enough, and it sometimes make me wonder why no model kit manufacture are rushing to produce them three years ago when the anime was still hot? It is a great kit overall.

Now I am gonna put on its additional power up

The hair for its what what driver.....dun remember the name.

Reminds me of Aubenseiter from SRW.

The giant cannon can be split into 2 and hang on its back with the dual revol-joint.

This mecha comes with so many awesome real military weapon. The giant cannon, shotgun, dual blades, revol-joint handle, grenade and a pair of special blade (this I really no idea wat to call it).

Big hand cannon

The shotgun

Grenades

The special blade

The normal blade

So what do you think about this mecha? Is it on your buying list? Those weapon of its can be used by those 1/144 HG kits since the height and scale of them are similar.

After all this it still comes to one of the biggest problem for all revoltech.... storage. Just look at all the accessories, Counting all the Revoltech I had, there is more than 20 pieces and all of them I mix them together in a box.

Ehhh more and more spare parts

HGUC Zudah non-AB version – WIP part 4

Ahhh been some time since i post any WIP of my Zudah. Ok this is part 4 and it is near the end of snap fitting. Todays main attraction will be on the Zudah's skirt armor:

As you all can see from the pic below this particular skirt part is connected by a plastic rod, this make the action of the mecha less natural.

This is the reason why i said it makes it less natural, when one side raise the other will follow.

So we cut the darn thing into 2 separate parts like the picture below. Since this are older batch of HGUC kits so they used the plastic rod to connect the 2 side instead of the newer version where there use 2 ball shape typed rod to connect the thing, as a result you need to judge where to cut the rod yourself, just make sure you cut it somewhere near the mid.

Now everything looks better.

After that part we will be moving on to the leg joint part.

From the pictures above, the right one is the original one, while the one of the left is the modded one. There are a few choices to work on this part, you either glue the darn thing with plastic cement or just do it like me (change the seam lines into a much nice looking panel line). As for the nips marks (whithen mark on the surface), we can fix it later with some gundam weathering marker.

Another thing you need to do is sand off those lines (mold form lines) from the leg joint.

Ok that makes the Zudah kit more close to completion. The next WIP will finish the snap fit part of the Zudah and after that will cover on the touch up of the model kit.

Figma Konata and Figmas Problems

OKOK finally i have time to start my Figma Konata. Got it almost half a month ago and play with it recently. Today beside being as usual messing with my Figma, I also want to point out a few weak points that i encounter on all the figma i got.

This Figma has the cutest look among all that i have got. It definitely can have a head on with the Revoltech Yotsuba Summer Vacation version.

Figma follow the original setting of the height and style of the character when they develop their figure. So when you compare Konata with the Haruhi's Gang, you get the feeling her head is bigger and body is shorter.

Different character design with different heights and size of head.

The accessories include an extra face expression, 6 pairs of hand, and the other usual stuff

Now remember last time when i first got my Mikuru, I did comment about the hole in her back hard to be used becoz of her long hair. Guess wat Konata has longer one.

This hole is impossible to be used.

Luckily they did include another hole at the back of her hair. It has another hair piece plug in to cover the hole when not in used.

Here comes the anoying part, the freaking hole cant fit in those Figma Stand....... WTH!!! They didnt even tried it out before they release it!!!! This is like the third or fouth figma i got having the same old problem but this is the worse, the darn hole cannot even squeeze abit in and a little movement on dear Konata you have the whole thing fall out.

Damn this is annoying.

So I had to used those gunpla equipment of mine, the Tamiya File and the Hobby knife to reduce the size of the male pin of the stand.

File, slice and sand the darn thing and test fit it with my Konata. Finally it can fit in perfectly although i did not reduce the length of that male pin but at least it can now fit in perfectly and wont drop out easily.

Than another anoying stuff about those Figma Figure where lots and lots of ppl complain about. The falling front hair-piece....... this is like the 3 or 4 figure having this problem.... wat on earth cant they improve after so many release. Even Revoltech Yotsuba has great improvement in the Summer Vacation version.

See the darn thing cant even fit in.

This time the problem is with the hair-piece, the fitting hole isnt perfectly matching with the back hair piece..... did some adjustment the front hair piece with my Hobby Knife again, manage to make it fit tighter than before but as for the gap..... no luck the thing is just not molded right enough to fit perfectly!

I took a close look at her head..... hmmm tat small piece of hair seems to be able to remove from it..... but u think they did apply some sort of glue on to it, you may need some force to remove it.

I love this expression of her the most!

Within the box there is a free background

Now after this piece of Figma, i notice i am starting to have some problem with the storage of their acessories. Although Figma was generous enough to provide us with those Figma Bad but my Figma bag are getting more and more. Currently Figma Nanoho and Fate is in my car waiting for me to unpack

hmm wat do you guys do with yours?

Alpha Omega Code Geass Figure

When i was thinking that GSC Shiki Ryogi will be my last figure...... i saw this pair of poison frm Alpha Omega..... although I had already knew that Alpha was going to release some Code Geass Figure during the Wonfes, but i never expect that they look so nice especially Kallen.....

Since I am a Kallen-tard, I cannot resist not buying figures of Kallen, especially this bunny-suit version.... But in the same time due to our weirdo Government with their rules and regulation with those PVC figure recently, it puts me into worry whether my Kallen will even pass the Custom here.

Man my country is getting weirder and weirder day by day.... PVC figure with Bikini girls is also a no no and dont even mention those other more sexy one (sure no for Government), and then we get Avril Lavigne Malaysia Concert case...... deng life is miserable.

Bandai Recycle Plastic Model Kit

Remember an article i wrote last year October? Regarding the Bandai's Trash and Environment friendly...... Guess now Bandai gonna do something on the extra bits of plastics that with leave behind after cutting out all the parts, rejects from factory, extra and unused plastic material.

This aint a limited or special edition HGUC Gouf, this is a recycle material HGUC kit. Picture frm Toysdaily

This is one of the picture taken from HK Gunpla Expo 2008. According to the article next to the black Gouf HGUC kit, they mention that the kits is make of recycle material. Guess this is really are nice thing to do and also settle a lot waste problem.

Wonder if kits made of this material will be cheaper or not? But I am sure that the plastic quality will for sure degrade, maybe same quality like those bootleg kits. Color wise i think it is quite nice and definitely not a problem for pro who has an AB.
